MAC - Men Against Cancer
A National Prostate and Testicular Cancer Support Group
MAC is a support group for men with prostate or testicular cancer. The organisation provides men and their relatives and friends with information, advice and emotional support from time of diagnosis or recurrence and for as long as it is needed.
This support group consists of volunteers who have had treatment for prostate or testicular cancer. Some of our members are trained to provide information and reassurance at a time when it is most needed. This service is provided on a one-to-one basis and is confidential and free of charge.
To avail of this service, you should contact MAC by phone call or text at 087 7025800 or by email to firstname.lastname@example.org
For medical advice and information you can contact the Irish Cancer Society Helpline 1800 200 700 where you can speak to a trained cancer nurse who, if you request, will put you in touch with a trained volunteer who has experienced prostate or testicular cancer.
While most peer-to-peer support is given over the phone many volunteers are prepared to meet in person. To contact a MAC volunteer call or text MAC at 087 7025800
